Top Grossing Hollywood Films at Indian Box Office

Hollywood’s presence at the Indian box office has grown tremendously over the past decade. Superhero spectacles, fantasy epics, and event films now draw massive crowds across the country. The all-time top grossers list features some of the biggest global blockbusters, led by James Cameron’s Avatar franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Current Top 10

The highest-grossing Hollywood films in India include Avatar: The Way of Water, Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Avatar: Fire and Ash, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Oppenheimer.

While Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey may not have reached the very top, its run has been particularly remarkable. Unlike the others, it wasn’t backed by an established franchise or superhero universe. It emerged as one of the biggest Hollywood successes in India purely on Nolan’s brand and exceptional word of mouth.

Marvel Dominates Indian Markets

One trend is impossible to ignore: the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) continues to dominate. Films featuring the Avengers and Spider-Man have consistently shattered records and attracted unparalleled footfalls. Marvel has become the most bankable Hollywood brand in the country.

The only major exception to that dominance has been James Cameron’s Avatar franchise. Its breathtaking visual spectacle and immersive theatrical experience have allowed it to compete with—and even surpass—Marvel’s biggest releases.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Eyes All-Time Record

Now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day appears poised to rewrite history. After shattering Avengers: Endgame's opening day record, the Marvel blockbuster collected a staggering ₹257.6 crore in its opening weekend.

Trade projections suggest it could comfortably finish in the ₹450–500 crore range. That would make it the highest-grossing Hollywood film in Indian box-office history, overtaking Avatar: The Way of Water by a significant margin. If the current momentum continues, Brand New Day may well set a benchmark that remains untouched for years.
